John L. Mancini Jr. served as Principal of Seth Low I.S. 96 in Brooklyn for twenty-one years, and went on to become the Principal of Northside Catholic Academy in Brooklyn. Mr. Mancini has been a member of the Leadership Department faculty of Brooklyn College since 1984. He is very proud to have been the Principal when Seth Low Intermediate School won the U.S. Department of Education’s Blue Ribbon Secondary School recognition. John has always been most active in educational leadership. Back in the days of decentralization, he was a member and President of Community School Board 26. He also served as President of the New York City Middle School Principals’ Association, and was the national Urban Schools Chairman for NASSP. John Mancini served two terms as a Director for NYAPE and one year as our Executive Director. He is currently the chairman of the Nominations Committee and the public relations coordinator for our website. He and his wife Linda are thankful to be blessed with two successful grown children and two wonderful grandchildren. John enjoys spending time with his family, continuing the study of music following a “weekend career” in professional music, and learning the frustrating sport of golf!
