In recognition of his continued work and leadership, he was named the 2027 Superintendent of the Year by the New York State Council of School Superintendents.

Under his leadership, the district’s graduation rate increased from 77 percent to 92 percent, and students gained expanded access to Advanced Placement, early college, and career and technical education programs. A dedicated advocate for public education, he serves on the executive committee of the New York State Council of School Superintendents and is a past president of the Suffolk County School Superintendents Association. His regional leadership has included work on school safety, career and technical education, and diversity and inclusivity. He also serves the Hampton Bays community through the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and AJJ Scholarship Fund.

He holds a master’s degree in educational leadership, management, and policy, graduating summa cum laude, and a bachelor’s degree in government and American studies from the University of Texas at Austin. He began his career as a middle school teacher and has also served as a principal and taught courses in school law and education.
